Pansy kampt met fysieke en mentale pijn en worstelt voortdurend met het leven. Dit uit zich in boosheid en confrontaties met de buitenwereld, inclusief haar familie. Terwijl haar echtgenoot Curtley niet weet hoe met haar om te gaan, leeft zoon Moses in zijn eigen wereldje en is hij voornamelijk in de stad terug te vinden.
